Adventures

Horse Riding

Book a horse wine tasting tour at Paradise Stables and visit two renowned wine estates, Rickety Bridge and Mont Rochelle. Each trip last 4 hours and comprises a morning session 8h45 to 13h15 or an afternoon session 13h15 to 16h45. The cost is R1200 pp ( weight<100kgs). Wine tasting fees are included.

Bicycle rides

• Hop onto our own bicycles and enjoy a ride through the village or around the valley. Make your own wine tasting itinerary and cycle back (if you can).
• Rent an E-Bike, Racing bike, or mountain bike from Franschhoek Cycles and explore further afield!

Hiking

Enjoy any one of several hiking trails throughout the Franschhoek Valley
• Visit Mont Rochelle Nature Reserve and hike to either Uitkyk (6,4km return), Du Toits Kop (9,5km round trip) or for the more adventurous (Perdekop 13,4km round trip). Permit required.
• Hike the La Motte Hiking trail (5km round trip), passing through its historical vineyards and traverse its mountainside through unique fynbos with its associated fauna and flora. Permit required and book on line.
• Hike the back of the Berg River dam with its endless hiking trails using the maps provided. Swimming holes abound!
